CBC Radio column: Why governments should actually be afraid of Wikileaks

By DJ Kelly December 1, 2010

In this alberta@noon column on CBC Radio One with host Donna McElligott I talk about Wikileaks and the recent “cablegate” leaked U.S. Embassy communications. I cover past Wikileaks and examine why North Americans are more upset this time than ever before. There are lots of reasons for governments to be embarrassed by the contents of the 200,000 documents and to be afraid of the perceived recklessness of Wikileaks, but what governments really should be afraid of is how citizens have come together to expose potential wrong doing by sifting through the documents en masse.
